Meena Kumari was born on August 01, 1932 in Bombay, Maharashtra (India). Her original name was Mahajabeen Bano. She is Called The Tragedy Queen and her work is considered immortal. She was one of the great Urdu Poet of the land and written many sad poems in her lonely days. She came into Indian Film Industry at the age of just six. She won Filfare Best Actress Award for Baiju Bawra (1952), Parineeta (1953), Sahib Biwi aur Ghulam (1962), Kaajal (1966) and her other major films are Daera (1953) and Pakeezah (1972). In 1952, she was married to Kamal Amrohi and separated in 1964. She became addicted to alcohol. Her life and her career were vanished by heavy drinking, troubled relationships. She passed away on March 31, 1972 due to liver problems.
