Lata Mangeshkar was born on September 28, 1929 at Indore, Central India Agency, British India. She is the best known and most respected Playback Singer, Popular Music Composer and Film Producer. Her career started in 1942. She is the second vocalist ever to received Bharat Ratna (India’s highest civilian Award). She was featured in Guinness Book of World Records from 1974 to 1991 for having made the most recordings in the World. She won the Maharashtra Government’s Best Music Director Award for Sadhi Manase back in 1964. She also received Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Dada Saheb Phalke Award and won four Filmfare Awards for Best Female Playback Singer.
