Government celebrates 12 June as World Anti Child Labor Day.
According to Indian presumption, there are 1.3 crore children of 5-14 aged who are child laborers. To Stop Child labor; Population should be controlled, necessity of education should be understood, scholarships should be provided to good students of poor families, necessary things should be provided to poor families.

Surjit Patar was born (January 14, 1945) in village Patarhan from which he derives his pen-name. After completing his Masters from Punjabi University, Patiala; he registered himself for doctroral work on "The Existential Element in Punjabi Drama". He completed his PhD on "Folkloric Elements in the Bani of Guru Nanak Dev", Patar Joined Punjab Agriculture University and got a Professorship there from which he retired in 2004. He has held the office of the President, Punjabi Sahit Akademi, Ludhiana.

Avtar Singh Sandhu (September 9, 1950 – March 23, 1988) was born in Talwandi Salem, Jalandhar, Punjab. He published his first book of revolutionary poems, Loh-Katha (Iron Tale) in 1970 when he was not even 20. Due to his sympathies with the militant movement and the provocative nature of his poetry, he spent nearly two years in jail. He became involved in Punjab's maoist front, editing a literary magazine, Siarh (The Plow Line). He toured the UK and the USA. Pash, who was in Punjab for a holiday from the U.S., was shot dead by a group of Khalistani terrorists..
